Training and capacity building

Training and capacity building are foundational elements for the growth, resilience, and long-term success of individuals, organizations, and communities. Jointly work for training focused on immediate skill acquisition is vital, capacity building for strengthening the knowledge base and developing a highly skilled and trained work force.

  • Train-the-Trainer (TTT) Ecosystems: Train internal subject matter experts within each subsidiary to become certified tech coaches. This ensures on-site troubleshooting and continuous capability building without overwhelming central IT support.
  • Absorptive Capacity Development: A common failure in conglomerates is the "Not Invented Here" syndrome, where a subsidiary resists outside tech. Training must focus on building absorptive capacity—teaching the receiving company's engineering teams how to capture, adapt, and scale up intellectual property developed by their sister firms
  • Corporate Centers of Excellence (CoEs): Establish cross-subsidiary governance bodies. Capacity building here involves training "Standards Champions" from each subsidiary to act as internal auditors, ensuring local implementations do not break group-wide compliance rules.
  • Shared Compliance and Quality Audits: Provide joint training on global regulations (such as ISO frameworks or sector-specific standards). This ensures every entity in the conglomerate operates at a baseline quality level, smoothing internal supply chains.
